Information about Fees

There are several ways you can access our services. Below are the most common referral pathways, however, you are always welcome to contact our office for specific advice and assistance on booking in to see us.

General Psychology

In-Office or Online Telehealth Booking – Book Here

We have a dedicated telehealth service for anyone in Australia looking to book with a qualified counsellor or psychologist online.

General fees are dependent on a number of factors including: the length of consultation, the Psychologist you are seeing, the service being provided and your form of referral. Fees are payable prior to your consultation via EFTPOS, credit card or through third party arrangement

sessions are 45 minutes. Late arrival will not allow for extra time.

National Disability Insurance Scheme – Therapeutic Supports:

Building Blocks is not a registered NDIS provider, however, participants who are plan-managed or self-managed can use NDIS funding to cover the cost of their sessions for the provision of psychology and counselling services.

Pricing for NDIS participants are reflective of the NDIS Pricing arrangements.

Medicare Rebates

Anyone can access a Medicare rebate if they are experiencing mental health difficulties.

You may be entitled to access a Medicare plan to help cover the cost of sessions.

But to be eligible to access a Medicare rebate you must first go to your GP, who will undertake a brief assessment of your situation. You need to be granted a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP. This will then allow you to gain a rebate back from Medicare on up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year.

Steps involved

The first step is to call us on 0472772114 to obtain an appointment time and the name of one of our psychologists. You will need to provide this information to the GP.
Next, consult with your GP, who will ask you a few basic questions.
Then you bring the mental health treatment plan along with your Medicare card to us. Once you have paid for the session, you will then be able to access a rebate from Medicare.
In any calendar year, you will be eligible to gain rebates for an initial 6 sessions. Your GP can also authorise further sessions, up to 10 per year, if needed.

We provide psychology sessions in person and via telehealth (phone or video).

If it is your child experiencing difficulties and you would like them to access professional support then the GP needs to issue the mental health treatment plan in your child’s name.

When utilising a Medicare plan, we ask you pay in full on the day of your appointment. We can then process the rebate for you and Medicare will deposit your rebate into your nominated account. Alternatively, we can provide you with a copy of your paid invoice, and you can claim directly with Medicare.

Self-Referral

Some clients may opt to pay for their sessions at Building Blocks Clinic privately.

Clients can access support at Building Blocks Clinic without a referral from a GP or Paediatrician. This method of access will incur the full out-of-pocket cost to the client.

Private health insurance may be utilised depending on your level of cover – please check with your insurer to determine your entitlements before attending your appointment.

You can pay your invoice via reception, over the phone, or via internet banking.

Please include your invoice number on all online payments.

NDIS

1. NDIS Plan Managed

You sign a Building Blocks Clinic consent form.
Your NDIS Plan Manager manages your NDIS funding.
Building Blocks Clinic can accept payments from NDIS Plan Managers via BPAY, direct debit, Visa, or Mastercard.
If your NDIS Plan Manager advises that they cannot make payment to Building Blocks Clinic via BPAY, direct debit, Visa, or Mastercard, then an alternative payment arrangement may be set up as follows:
- Your NDIS Plan Manager pays you directly and then you pay Building Blocks Clinic; or
- You pay Building Blocks Clinic and then your NDIS Plan Manager will reimburse you directly.

2. NDIS Self Managed

You sign a Building Blocks Clinic consent form.
You pay Building Blocks Clinic via BPAY, direct debit, Visa, or Mastercard for services in line with private fees and then you claim through the NDIS for a reimbursement.

Important note: it is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that they have adequate and appropiate funds avaliable prior to attending any service at Building Blocks Clinic. Clients will remain liable for any session costs where NDIS has declined to pay for any reason.

GP Referral – Mental Health Care Plan

Under the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative, you and your GP will create a plan that will include treatment options and goals, and a referral letter to Building Blocks Clinic with a specified number of initial sessions noted.

Please schedule a double appointment with your GP to organise your plan.

A valid mental health care plan and referral allows you to claim up to 10 sessions with a mental health professional each calendar year (January 1 to December 31).

As of Oct 2020, an additional 10 sessions were made available as response to the impacts of COVID-19.

The Medicare rebate for general psychology services are $89.65 and clinical psychology services are $131.65.

GP Referral – Chronic Disease Management Plan

If you have been experiencing a chronic disease for six months or longer, you may be eligible for up to five sessions per calendar year where you can claim a Medicare rebate.

To discuss your eligibility for this, book an appointment with your GP.

Worksafe / TAC

If you have suffered a work-related injury or illness, or have been in a motor accident, please contact Worksafe or TAC, and also speak to your GP and/or employer regarding a referral for psychological services.

Please confirm with Worksafe or TAC if you are eligible for psychological services before scheduling at appointment, otherwise you will be charged the standard fee.

You will need to provide the following details: name and contact details of your case manager, your claim number, and confirmation that psychology has been approved. If you are unsure, you will need to confirm your case manager.

Cancellation Fee

Building Blocks will send a txt reminder system to ensure you are given amble time to cancel your session if required.

100% full fee will be charged for non-attendance or less than 24 hours of notice is given for cancellation for any reason.

Unfortunately there are no Medicare or Private Health rebates available for cancellation fees.
